For A Limited Time Only

I just finished the most delicious salad of my life. I could seriously eat it at least three times a week, if I was allowed to. Many of you are probably wondering where I am going with this, but sit tight and we will get there. Today, I want to talk about something that can be so frustrating at times and the industry knows it! Limited Edition Food.

This is how it happened: I was watching my favorite tv show, Dancing with the Stars (Shameless plug here, if you aren't watching this, you need to be!) when the commercials come on. I will be honest, I usually just tune them out, answer a few messages, or read a page or two in my book; however, last night was different and it sparked some joy. The limited edition Zensation Zalad commercial that I have been waiting for. And this is what has sparked my post today.

Why do so many companies do limited edition items that always leave us wanting more? I know it is a ploy to bring us back time and time again; however, with some of these items I would return to their store even more than I already do just for these times! I have created a list of some of the limited edition food items with a little help from my bestie as well.

Zensation Zalad from Zaxby's (Pictured Above)
Frozen Coffee from Chick-fil-a
McRib from McDonalds
Various Valentine's shakes from Sonic
Hawaiian Roast Beef sandwich from Arby's
Mushroom Swiss Burger from Jacks
Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread House anything from Starbucks

Many of these items, no matter how terrible they may be to others, are enjoyed by many. When it is McRib season I end up hating myself for trying to have it as often as possible before it goes away again. And there is nothing like the disappointment of when the items go away and you ask for them only to be told no. For someone like me that already struggles to order, this ruins my experience. Then I become that person that takes forever in front of you. (I am sorry for this, hence why I try to plan ahead on what I will be eating at any given place.)

What are some season items that you wish would just stay around? Are any of the ones on my list some of your favorites? I would love to know your thoughts on seasonal menu items and if they should be a thing. Hope all of you have a blessed week!
