Currently Reading - July 2020

Hiya darlings and dudes!! We are in the middle of summer here, which means high temps and pesky insects. I don't know about you, but I love a good escape, a good beach read, this time of year. July was a variety of reading, so lets jump right in!

July was an exciting month for me!! My family and I did our first (at home) summer camp! You can be assured it won't be our last either. So on top of my usual reads, I had some camp reads, childrens books, and my usual ARCs. Hamilton has also invaded, so expect some Hamilton adjacent reading to come! This was also my first month doing a monthly reading challenge that an author I enjoy releases in her newsletter each month. (You can sign up for that here.

Currently Reading - June 2020

Hiya darlings!! Does anyone else feel like 2020 is flying by at the speed of a snail? (Don't laugh, it feels like both to me.) I am really excited to share my reading with you this month, so let me tell you why.

June was a month of finding new favorites and return to some old favorites as well. The biggest thing to share is that I hit my Goodreads goal for 50 books this month!! I have already increased, going with small increments, and I have no plans of slowing down with reading. (I may have already finished my first book for July before finishing up this post.)

Currently Reading - May 2020

Hello Darlings!!! I cannot believe that we are already heading into the halfway mark of the year! Some months have flown, and some have dragged, but I am still here to let you in on what I have been reading this month.

Coming off of the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon, which you can see my wrap up for here, I wasn't expecting to read much at all. I wanted to take a breather and read a few things here and there. Somehow, I still managed to finish SEVEN books!! So let's see what I read and what stood out to me.

O.W.L.s Magical Readathon Wrap Up - Currently Reading - April 2020

Hiya Darlings!!! It is the end of April and that means the end of the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon!! As I await my owl with my official results I wanted to go ahead and shared what I ended up reading this month.

As you can imagine, April's currently reading post will be a little different than my usual format of the standout book, honorable mention, and ARCs read; however, I wanted to share what I read in a similar format to my TBR post. This way, you can get a clear picture of what changes I made in my reading for the O.W.L.s. Let's jump right in!

Reading Tips: Reading Multiple Books

Hiya dearies! I hope this blog is finding you safe and well. With so many platforms seeing a surge in reading, I thought I would share some ideas and tricks with you here. I hope to make this an ongoing series, so keep checking back!

If you are finding this blog post at a later date, right now we are in the midst of a pandemic called COVID 19. With so many staying home, working from home, or unfortunately without work at the moment (if this is you, know that my heart breaks for you), many have turned to books to pass the time. No matter what your preferences in reading, I think I may have a tip for you. Currently, I average between 5 and 10 books a month. I know this is very middle of the road for some; however, I try to increase that number during readathons.

Currently Reading - March 2020

Hiya Guys and Gals!! What a whirlwind we are all in at the moment. If you are a bookworm like me, you are taking this added time to read. And for me, that equaled a total of TEN books this month!
First, I want to let every reader know that during this current situation (Covid-19 for those reading this much later) that I am thinking of you all. Although my state has just implemented a closure of nonessential businesses, I have personally been social distancing for several weeks. I know that I am very blessed to be able to do that. With that being said, I used the time to escape for moments of time by reading. In my mind, it was a wonderful reading month full of new favorites and even one that I just couldn't finish.

O.W.L.s Magical Readathon - 2020 TBR

Hiya darlings!! Or should I say, fellow witches and wizards? April is a magical time of year when we all come together to sit our O.W.L.s exams (Ordinary Wizarding Levels for the muggles who have stumbled upon this blog). Today I am going to share my TBR stack for this readathon!

For anyone who knows me, this comes as no surprise. This is my third year sitting for these exams, and it is something I look forward to with Hunter each year. I have done all the things, I have winged it, and this year I am even picking a career to study for. Let me tell you more about the readathon and share some important links with you.

Currently Reading - February 2020

Hiya Dearies!! I can't believe how quickly February flew by! I am here again with another reading update for you. February was jammed packed full of reading, and I hope I can carry this momentum into the rest of the year!
Overall, I had an amazing reading month! I did participate in Tome Topple, but the reading for that wasn't exactly what I had planned. I ended up DNFing the first choice over halfway, but I am still counting it as read after the amount of time and pages spent. Thanks to the Paper and Glam bookclub, my second choice was a reread; however, one I really enjoyed seeing with fresh eyes.

Currently Reading - January 2020

Hiya Darlings!! Look who is back with a currently reading post?! Whether you are a fellow bookworm, or you are just curious about what I have been reading, this post is for you. I managed to finish a few books in January and wanted to share them with you, so let's get started!

Many of you will be wondering where these posts went in 2019. I felt the burnout from my currently reading posts fairly early on. When I hit my big reading months with a ton of books, I just couldn't bring myself to try and catch up. (I tend to read and forget which can be a blessing and a curse, you will see.) The pressure I have been feeling? To provide detailed reviews and proper descriptions of EVERY book I read. There are many other blogs and reviewers that do that so well, and I am just not that blogger. I am sorry if that is what you are here for; however, I wanted to try something new this year. I hope you will give it a chance with me.

Instead of reviewing each book, I am going to showcase covers, provide Goodreads links, and then give you my standout book, an honorable mention, and then any ARCs (advanced reader copies) that I have read that month. How does that sound?

2020 Intentions

Hiya darlings! I hope that the beginning of 2020 is finding you well! I have been away from my blog for a while; however, I am hoping to change that and find a new direction. Today we are starting with some intentions for 2020.

My dear brothers and sisters, we would do well to slow down a little, proceed at the optimum speed for our circumstances, focus on the significant, lift up our eyes, and truly see the things that matter most. - Dieter F. Uchtdorf
