Favorites - April 2019

Hello, dearies!! I know that you are thinking... three posts in one week?! Who is she?! Maybe I am getting my groove back, or maybe I just have more to share. I can't promise anything, but I hope I keep producing more than just my currently reading posts again. Today, we are going to talk favorites for the month of April, so let's get started!!

Favorites aren't usually my kind of post; however, I found a few things this month that I really wanted to share. This isn't going to be just a list of products, it is also going to be some experience type things as well. If you would like to see my favorites, feel free to check out my bestie, The Girl from Alabama, who does favorites posts more often.

Let's start with beauty favorites. For many years now I have loved taking care of and painting my nails; however, I kept hitting a wall at a certain length where my nails would split, break or peel. There doesn't seem to be an underlying cause except for brittle nails. (My mother struggles with this as well.) This month I tried something new, dip nails (at home), and loving it! I will list the products along with a picture of my favorite manicure as well. Having nice nails is almost like self-care for me. I feel better about myself in general when my nails are well taken care of. Also, I took a leap of faith and shaped my nails the way I have always wanted but never could because of length: coffin!

Products Used:
Color Club Serendipity Kit in Ooh La La plus ASP Quick Dip in Clear
Julep Love - Warning, although this is linked, it is out of stock. It was a bonus or limited edition Maven subscriber polish several years ago.
Soap & Glory Hand Food - My bestie recommended this to me when I was having some peeling issues with my hands and it cleared it up in a matter of days! I was so impressed, and the scent is amazing!!

Next up, Planner! About two years ago I switch to a traveler's notebook filled with inserts I made myself. I loved the transition from an Erin Condren Life Planner. Many aspects appealed to me; however, recently I started feeling like I was just stuck in a routine of doing the same thing over and over again. I knew stickers weren't an option, but different planners were looking appealing again. So I took a chance and picked up a dot grid notebook to start bullet journaling again! It started off super simple, and now for May I am experimenting with a theme and added color. I am excited for planning again and for trying new spreads.

Products Used:
Artist's Loft Dot Grid in Gray
Papermate Inkjoy in 0.5 and Papermate Clearpoint Pencil
Crayola Supertips - They also have these in 50 or 100 packs, but I wanted to start small with added color.
Helix 360 Angle and Circle Maker

Let's talk about hobbies. I have briefly mentioned diamond painting before; however, not in detail. I don't plan to do that here, but if that is something you would like to see in the future, leave a comment below. Up until now all of my square (the shape of the resin diamond placed on the canvas) has been from one company. This company has come under fire because their quality isn't good and it is resulting in the diamonds not laying down on the canvas properly. This month I started my first square painting by another company, also one of my largest to date. It is such a dream to work on, that I am falling in love with diamond painting all over again. I can't link to the product since it is no longer available from the seller I purchased it from, but I will be happy to share the company if you leave a comment. This large painting is a piece for my fiance, Dylan. It is Beauty and the Beast, the moment Beast transforms at Belle's kiss into Adam. It is a gorgeous piece and I can't wait to share it when I am finished.

Last, but not least is an app I want to shout out. Voxer! I used this app years and years ago, but it had been quite some time. Thanks to a recent cell phone event I was left without cellular service. This app was crucial with me and Hunter communicating throughout the day. You can also use their direct website and login to use it on a laptop as well. I love that I can press it, talk as long as I want (hands-free), and then send the message to her. I love using this while I am working on my journal, diamond painting, and any number of activities. It has been a game changer!

What are some of your favorite products or memories of this month? I look forward to seeing what you have been enjoying!
