Buying for a book lover isn't always simple. There are the obvious choices like books, gift cards, and bookmarks; however, for someone who doesn't read, that may be a daunting task to pick out. What if you purchase a book they already have? Gift cards are easy to pick up; however, what if they take it as impersonal? Do you buy a book that is in a series? Do they prefer hardbacks or paperbacks? Is a Kindle what they have been looking for? Do they want a traditional bookmark or a magnetic one? What do you mean there are hundreds of bookmarks available? It can become overwhelming, even for those of us who know the book lover we are buying from. And lets be real, there are a ton of different things on the mark to buy for a book lover. Here are some of my ideas:
Book Scented Candles - Where it is from a fandom that they love or simple a candle that smells of leather, paper, and ink, candles can be a wonderful solution if you are looking for something unique and different. Here are several Etsy shops where you can purchase book related candles:
-NovellyYours
-The Melting Library
-Frostbeard Studio
Book Subscription Services - Subscription boxes are like the gift that keeps on giving. Each month a new curated box shows up at your door for you to open. The contents are a surprise and it is like Christmas all over again. As subscription boxes have taken flight, many box related boxes have hit the market. Anywhere from just books, books and book related goodies, to even a box where you open a different gift depending on the page number. Here are a few that caught my eye this year:
-Once Upon a Book Club
-Owl Crate
-Muse Monthly
Book Related Accessories - Female or male, there are tons of book accessories that you can find. From jewelry to clothing, and all things in between. Our love for reading isn't just limited to the books we read, so share some love with some accessories for us as well. Here are some ideas to get you started:
-NerdyGrlDesigns
-Storiarts
-Bookworm Boutique
There are so many other options that are available on the market as well. Reading journals! For anyone who is an avid reader that loves to keep track of what they read, there is a plethera of journals on the market for them to try. TBR (to be read) lists can be restrictive for some readers. A good DIY gift you can put together is to create a TBR jar or a challenge jar filled with prompts or book titles for them to draw from.
I hope this post has been helpful in giving you gift ideas for the bookworm in your life. What are some book related gifts you would love to see under your tree this year?
